Programs & Initiatives
AfroScience supports and highlights STEM initiatives that strengthen education, visibility, and opportunity in Black communities and across Africa.
Five areas where
we take action
Each program area reflects a distinct way AfroScience creates impact — from inspiring the next generation to reporting on the breakthroughs shaping our world today.
Profiles, Spotlights & Timelines
We create and curate profiles, interviews, visual spotlights, and historical timeline projects that make Black scientific achievement visible — to the world, and to the next generation of scientists who need to see themselves in science.
Education for Students, Teachers & Families
We develop and share educational content designed for students, teachers, and after-school programs — resources that bring Black science into the classroom, the library, and the home, making STEM relevant and achievable for every young learner.
Labs, Maker Spaces & Grassroots Science
We showcase and amplify community labs, maker spaces, innovation hubs, and grassroots science initiatives — because some of the most important science is happening outside traditional institutions, in communities building their own future.
Breakthroughs, Patents & Medical Innovations
We report on scientific breakthroughs, patents, medical innovations, and technological progress emerging from Black scientists and institutions — bringing these stories to a global audience that too rarely hears them.
Collaborations Aligned With Our Mission
We collaborate with institutions, NGOs, educators, and aligned initiatives that share our commitment to making Black scientific achievement visible and advancing STEM in Black communities. Every partnership is an extension of our mission.
